What if I’m not in shape? Do I need to be in fit to join the Boot Camp?

Nope, not at all! That would be like waiting to feel well before going to the doctor to help you feel well. Doesn’t make much sense, does it? Because that’s what our Boot Camp is for, to help you feel more than well, but great! We want to help you get in the best shape of your life starting from wherever you are right now. We can accommodate most fitness levels, from the very fit to the under-fit. If you’re injury-free and willing to try, we can help you modify any activity to fit your needs.

What if it rains?

Okay, we do live in the Northwest so we can’t say you won’t get wet during outdoor sessions. At times, the sun does have a tendency to play hide and seek with the clouds after all. On “liquid sunshine” days we move the workouts to sheltered and covered areas available at each Outdoor Boot Camp location. If the weather is particularly nasty, we cancel that days workout and offer participants a credit for another Boot Camp class. You don’t get off that easy, however, because a “homework” assignment is emailed for you to do on your own.?

How should I dress?

Layers. No matter what the weather, you will get HOT! Layering gives you options and helps you to regulate your personal environment. In warmer weather, you may want to add a hat and sunglasses, and be sure to wear sunscreen.

If I’m going miss some sessions, can I prorate the entry fee? What if I miss a class during the session?

We do not prorate the entry fee. We offer the option to drop-in for those who need more flexibility in their schedule. Many participants join our Boot Camp because they want the fun and motivation of working out within a group, as well as accountability. When you miss sessions it changes the group dynamics, effects your progress, and limits what the “group” can do. To help facilitate a great experience, we need to keep our numbers up and we need you to come!

Do I need to bring anything?

Along with fitness tools and props, we incorporate the natural surroundings of each location into your workout. The only things you need to bring is your “gear”:

  1. Handled resistance tubing *
  2. Yoga mat * or beach towel
  3. Small backpack
  4. Water bottle

* Bring your own, or rent/purchase from us.

What do we do during the workouts?

We find ways to have fun while being active. Remember when you were a kid and you went outside to play? You ran and hopped and skipped. You threw some balls, jumped rope, climbed the play structure. Before you knew it the street lights were on and it was time to come in.

Well, we’ve infused a bit more “adult sophistication” to those simple concepts, but the end result is the same. Fitness fun! Boring workouts of endless sets and reps are replaced with cool cardio and muscle conditioning circuits and intervals. Along with individual exercises, there are partner and group activities/games. And yes, we have been known to break out the hula hoop a time or two!
