What is your motivation to stay in shape? General fitness and health.
What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape? Resisting the urge to stay home on the couch when I'm tired. I work, am married, and have two active boys (ages 5 and 9) with busy sports and music schedules.
What is the key to your success? Exercising with friends and signing up and attending regular fitness classes, such as Wildfire Fitness Boot Camp and boxing fitness classes. I have a network of friends with whom I run the waterfront loop downtown at lunch two to three times a week. In the spring, I trained with the Portland Fit running group, too. An MP3 player with a radio (so I can listen to NPR) helps when my friends aren't available or I'm out of town.
What have you liked about training with your Wildfire Fitness trainer and how has it affected your life? I love the variety of activities and the challenge of keeping up with the rest of the class. I'd never work out this hard on my own! Tami is really helpful with making sure we're doing the exercises correctly and adjusting for the different fitness levels and needs of class participants. Tami makes our workouts fun and challenging!"
What advice do you give others about fitness? Find an activity you love and sticking with it. For me, success is related to working out with friends.
Trainer comments: Becky is an outstanding participant and hard worker. She is dedicated and always open to trying new activities, including the previously elusive skill of running. She always strives to do her best all the way to the end. While Becky may have disliked running at the start of her fitness journey with us, she is on fire now! Outstanding!!!
